"Shakeology is now the first thing I have when I wake up every morning!"

Cheyenne and I met about 8 years ago, when our husbands were both active duty Army and stationed at Ft. Lewis. We met through a mutual friend and quickly went from being acquaintances to lifelong friends.

Since having a baby almost 6 years ago, I have not been able to shake the baby weight plus some extra pounds that I've gained. When Cheyenne started posting information about Shakeology on Facebook, I ignored it at first. I had made serious attempts to lose weight multiple times over the past six years with varying levels of success, and each time the weight came back! But eventually, I decided to ask Cheyenne about her 12-Day Shakeology Challenge group. I knew that she wouldn't lie to me and when she told me about the program and the results her clients were having, I decided I had to give it a shot.

When I started the challenge, I was realistic with my goal. I was hoping to lose anywhere between 7-10 pounds ... and I did! The shakes were tasty and filling, and so easy to make in the morning and drink in the car on my way to work or school. The meal plan Cheyenne provided included “real meals” that were delicious and didn’t make me feel like I was cutting out major food groups, like dairy! Also, I liked having Cheyenne available to ask questions when needed. She provided a lot of motivation and support, too! The hardest part was the planning. I had to make sure that I grocery shopped ahead, etc., which can be difficult with my busy schedule.

Since I started drinking Shakeology, I have lost a total of 13 pounds. I also have more energy and do not find myself relying on unhealthy energy boosts, like soda. Shakeology is now the first thing I have when I wake up every morning! 

Cheyenne keeps motivating me and encouraging me not to give up. And, I am comfortable sharing my actual weight with her and that is huge!

P90X3 Approved Lunch Salad Recipe

I threw together this quick and easy salad for lunch today. It fits perfectly into the  P90X3 nutrition program, requires very little chopping/preparation, and it was so delicious!

I am on Plan B of the P90X3 daily meal plan, which means I should eat 1 protein, 3 carbs and 1 fat for lunch (this is also the lunch breakdown for Plan A). So this is what my ingredients list looked like:

Fat: 1 tsp. extra virgin olive oil

Protein: 2 oz. grilled chicken breast (I didn't have any chicken on hand, so I just ate a cup of yogurt on the side. You could also use 5 hardboiled egg whites instead of chicken)

Carbs: 1/3 cup garbanzo beans (chickpeas); 1/3 cup brown rice (you could also use quinoa); 1 bowl of raw baby spinach; 1 1/2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved

"Free" foods: fresh lemon juice and ground cumin

Just mix your carbs and proteins together in a bowl, squeeze a little bit of lemon juice on top, sprinkle with cumin and drizzle on the EVOO! Perfection!

3 Day Shakeology Slim Down Cleanse - Guide and FAQs

I've been getting a lot of questions about the 3 Day Shakeology Slim Down Cleanse (summer is right around the corner!!) after posting about Whitney's amazing results, so I put together this guide with answers to some of the most frequently asked questions.

What is it?

The 3 Day Slim Down Cleanse is a calorie-restricted, nutrient-rich cleanse that will help rid your body of toxins and excess water weight that causes bloat, helping you to maintain a healthy balance.

What does it do?

The 3 Day Slim Down Cleanse is designed to help jump-start your fitness or break through a weight-loss plateau, helping you shed pounds quickly and in a healthy way. You will also experience increased energy post-cleanse, as the body will be running more efficiently.

Will I lose weight?

Most people experience weight loss, either during or after the cleanse. You are more likely to lose weight initially if you have a lot of "junk" in your system, as your body will be working to flush those out during the course of the cleanse.

What can I eat?

During the cleanse, your daily consumption should include: 3 packs/scoops of Shakeology, 2 cups of green tea, 2 pieces of fruit, and a salad with grilled protein (either chicken, any white fish or shrimp).
  • BREAKFAST: 1 cup Green Tea; 1 pack/scoop of Shakeology mixed with 1/2 cup fruit (optional), 8-10 oz water and ice to taste
  • SNACK: 1 piece of fruit
  • LUNCH: 1 cup of Green Tea; 1 pack/scoop of Shakeology mixed with 8-10 oz water and ice to taste
  • SNACK: 1 pack/scoop of Shakeology mixed with 8-10 oz water and ice to taste
  • DINNER: Salad with three servings of vegetables (such as romaine lettuce, tomato, carrots, bell peppers, onion, cucumber, radishes, etc.) and 4 oz of grilled white protein (chicken, white fish or shrimp) with 2 Tbsp oil-based salad dressing

What foods should I avoid?

No dairy products (including almond, soy or rice milk), no excess sugar. For maximum results, NO additional additives.

How often can I do the cleanse?

You can do the cleanse once every quarter (every 3 months), when the seasons change, or when you start a new workout regimen.

Can I exercise during the cleanse?

Yes, this cleanse was developed to be done with a workout program. Keep in mind you will likely experience a decrease in energy during the cleanse (don't worry - it will actually increase once you have completed the cleanse!), so light exercise is preferred. I don't recommend doing the cleanse in the middle of an intense workout program, such as P90X or Insanity.

Can I go longer than 3 days?

It is not recommended to do the cleanse for longer than 3 days.
